Time goes by so slowly as Madonna sings, but we are not ready to hung up on this.  As the clicking clock counting down on its website.  Brightspot, a 4 day market of all things cool in Jakarta is returning with bigger actions and goodies up their sleeves this time round.  We simply just can’t wait!

Brightspot Market is a unique retail concept runs several times in a year in different locations.  Its aim is to gather local and international designers, artists and retailers to showcase range of unique products.  It is also use as a platform to support those who are innovative to present their work and spread to a larger audience.

With tenants like Nike Sportswear, melissa plastic dreams, Geulis, Naima, Toko Polaroid, Sorcery, Cheap Monday x Ann-Sofie Back just to name a few;  we are sure many locals as well as overseas fashionistas and enthusiast are keeping their eyes on this.  With a slogan like that, it can never go wrong!

For the mean time, we just have to sing time goes by, so slowly… … See you there, peeps!

I suppose many of you have already known, what good intention the Earth Hour has. But do you actually join in and give something back to the Mother Earth? Started in Sydney, Australia in 2007, Earth Hour quickly grow into a global observance. This is the second official year that Malaysia is joining the Earth Hour, our trademark The Petronas  Twin Towers will be lights off for an hour too! (more after the jump)

MTV Best Alternative Band Placebo will be playing live here in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore very soon.  The UK alternative rock band are best known for hit songs such as “Nancy Boy“, “Pure Morning“, “Every You Every Me” and has recently released a latest album titled Battle for the sun.

Be sure not to miss this legendary band.  They will be playing on:

Kuala Lumpur Design Week 2010 will be hitting our shore very soon with 20 show cases in 10 different locations spreading over two weeks. It will definitely create a buzz within the creative industry and much to look out for.

The design week will be show casing art exhibitions and installations, conferences, parties as well as an award giving ceremony.  UK based design magazine Creative Review will also be making appearance at the event.  Do check out the schedule and check out the amazing works by many talented peeps from the creative industry both internationally and locally.

The Kuala Lumpur Design Week 2010 will be happening from May 1st till May 15th.  Stay tuned over at their official Website or Facebook Group for more information on the event.

Canon has done a lot of fashion related work recently if you notice, one we saw locally was the proud sponsor and official broadcast of Malaysia Ford Model Search not long ago.  Now, Canon again made possible for us to watch London Fashion Week online.  Of course, it is fashion week and we already have our eyes on House of Holland, John Rocha, Ann-Sofie Back and PPQ.  But the list doesn’t stop there, in fact we are pretty excited to discover some new names in LFW and the show by Central Saint Martins.  But what makes London if it is without Vivienne Westwood?  Of course, Vivienne Westwood will be show casing her red label collection.

Besides catwalk shows, designers like Hussein Chalayan, Emma Cook and Eley Kishimoto just to name a few will be having presentations of their collections.  Phew, too much to mention, too excited to talk about.  Why don’t we just watch it together?

An exclusive four-hour alternative retail space and auction house packed with unbelievable bargains and highly sought after items.

Just in time for Chinese New Year, online urban lifestyle webzines www.streething.com and www.femmething.com have teamed up with Zouk Club KL for an exclusive fund raising event.

On February 7th, 2010, Zouk’s Mainroom and Phuture will be transformed into an alternative fashion/lifestyle retail space, where numerous labels and independent stores will be serving up tantalising special offers in a collective effort to raise money for Kiwanis Malaysia, the Haiti Relief Fund through UNICEF, Furry Friends Farm and Kechara Soup Kitchen.

Participants include Nike, adidas, PF Flyers, Limited Edt, Rock Corner (CD selection by DJ XU), Nooka, Sup Clothing, Lah Lah Land, Tea & Sympathy,  Juice KL, Sole What and many more. A comprehensive list of vendors is being updated daily over at the Streething and Femmething websites.

The highlight of the event though is the exclusive auction area, where we’ve teamed up with retailers, brands and lots of generous people to offer an array of goods that have either never been available in Malaysia, or were quickly snapped up and are now highly sought after. In case you have not notice, Tom Ford is actually a movie director now.  Yes, that Tom Ford, the one and only Tom Ford.  We all know that his eyes are sharp on fashion, advertisement, designs, art and able to visualize things and a great creator. It came no surprise to me that he is directing a movie.  A Single Man is the name of the movie.  What we gathered is that the movie will be premier in Germany in March 25th but we are not sure if the movie will hit our screens.  Here are the images from the movie and it actually look perfectly shoot, with that vintage grainy effects to it; we are liking the 70’s feel movie already.  We just have to pray and hope that the movie will be released here soon.

Recently wrapped her talk show, what is next for Tyra Banks?  What else is on her mind.  You ready? A round of “Fiercely Real Teen Model” search is on the way, the competition which opens for “curvylicious” girls age 13 to 19.  And to quality, they must wear between a size 12 and size 20 and stand between 5′9″ and 6′1″.
