Check out Louis Vuitton’s latest Fall/Winter 2010-11 ad campaign.  Featuring supermodels, Christy Turlington, Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova, the campaign was shot in a New York studio by Steven Meisel. Meisel images captures the essence of feminine spirit of the runway show.

“The strength of Louis Vuitton is its almost magical ability to reinvent itself every season,” says Artistic Director Marc Jacobs. “Last season was all about the idea of the New Age traveler. This season was a manifesto for beautiful, ladylike clothes. Two different collections, two different campaigns, but one Louis Vuitton.”

“Per the press release, soft sepia tones and a set resembling a movie star’s dressing room conjure an ambiance that combines intimacy with cinematic glamour as the models pose in the season’s sweet bustiers, Fifties knits and sweeping skirts, surrounded by stacks of shoe boxes from which peep the collection’s charmingly retro bow-fronted pumps. In keeping with the ladylike mood, the spotlight also falls on Louis Vuitton’s dazzling reinterpretations of its iconic Speedy handbag, in alligator, waxed calf leather, or flocked and sequined Monogram canvas.”

Fascinated by Warhol, John Wilcock, co-founder of Village Voice and Interview started interviewing some of  Andy Warhol’s closest associates, supporters and superstars creating an oral biography of the late pop art icon.  The book is what’s said to be a collection of prismatic portraits of one of modern art’s least knowable artists during the early years of Warhol’s fame.

“The Autobiography and Sex Life is the first oral biography of the artist and likely the most revealing portrait of Warhol, being composite instead of singular; each of its interviewees offers a piece of the puzzle that was Andy Warhol.”

Photographer Indira Cesarine is super talent if you realize that she met her first love – photography at the age of only 15 years old.  Even so, she still go to Columbia to triple major in Art History, French Literature and Women’s Studies while also shooting with top New York agencies.

Check out Howard Schatz‘s Liquid Light Series, the world renown fine art photographer who gets appraisal from many.  Studying and using human body as canvas, playing with light and paint; the end result is stunning!  The photographs are exhibited in museums and photography galleries internationally and we fell in love immediately upon seeing them.

German artist and photographer Claudia Rogge definitely has a vision of patterns making.  With human it is!  Slightly different from your usual patterns, he creates patterns usual number of humans in movement which later captured with a camera and some photoshop work.  We find it super cool and creative as how this can be transformed into art piece, fashion prints and even simply just a beautiful photo!

History will always remained history but it is truly inspiring when we look back on the achievement of the past to get inspired, motivate and learn.  This explains why in fashion industry, fashion history is so important no matter how young one fashion enthusiast is.  Just like the recent spread featured in French magazine Madame Figaro, titled ‘Factory Story‘; Chanel icon Vanessa Paradis takes on the rolled of Factory Girl Edie Sedgwick and of course shot by Karl Lagerfeld.  This Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick relationship of today’s is definitely interesting and we are anticipating more projects to come.

Award winning Italian photographer Fulvio Bonavia has release a book titled A Matter of Taste, featuring Bonavia’s conceptual photos of food as fashion.  All we can say is yummy and fashion drooling…  With a wide range of high profile clients such as adidas, Heineken, Swatch, Amnesty International; he is also well know for his automotive campaign for Jaguar, BMW, Saab, Audi just to name a few.  Now, food?  Brilliant work indeed.
