This August, Carri Munden of CASSETTE PLAYA is chosen to participate in the Make Something!! movement. The Make Something!! movement has sought out a leading creative to run a workshop for children involving some of their strengths and skills. Munden’s workshop of costume making is in anticipation of the August 14th Nike initiated World Basketball Festival celebrations at Rucker Park.

Fascinated by Warhol, John Wilcock, co-founder of Village Voice and Interview started interviewing some of Andy Warhol’s closest associates, supporters and superstars creating an oral biography of the late pop art icon. The book is what’s said to be a collection of prismatic portraits of one of modern art’s least knowable artists during the early years of Warhol’s fame.
“The Autobiography and Sex Life is the first oral biography of the artist and likely the most revealing portrait of Warhol, being composite instead of singular; each of its interviewees offers a piece of the puzzle that was Andy Warhol.”
To commemorate one of the most influential designers, Alexander McQueen, Hellz Bellz created a one-of-a-kind honorary tee. Sold at Hellz online store, a portion of the proceeds goes to “What Ever It Takes” organization which McQueen previously did a custom tee for. “What Ever It Takes” promotes leadership in encouraging young influential characters in this generation in taking positive action in the evolving awareness of poverty and environmental degradation.”
The “Long Live McQueen” tee was due for the Fall 2010 collection but because of the sudden loss of our beloved Mcqueen, Hellz showed their condolences and released it earlier in memory of him.

Cotton flower has been engraved onto the product with a combination of brown and white, which is the color of a cotton flower.
Vans Japan recently worked together with Fuji building a custom track bike for the fixed gear community in Japan. The bike comes in matte black with pink accents all over. Vans also worked with Resistant making a bike messenger bag to suit the bike. The messenger has a black canvas upper, white bottom with matching pink lining.

Hellz recently released their summer collection” So Lolita” ranging from elaborated cuts and styles that will blow your mind. Gin & Jacqie is working with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association in a charity event helping to create more awareness towards breast cancer. The Gin & Jacqie Breast Cancer Awareness Bag Print Design Contest 2009 is open to all Malaysians from 5 years old and above. Each artwork should be with regards to breast cancer. So do your part, send your message through by helping women realise and educate about breast cancer. The winner’s artwork will be printed on a canvas bag and all proceeds will be donated to BCWA.
Closing dates for artworks is on the 30th June 09.
