Through their “Designer Invitation Project”, Japanese brand UNIQLO has previously collaborated with designers like Phillip Lim, Alexander Wang and Alice Roi. Now, it has been revealed that Jil Sander will be working with UNIQLO on a range of products that will be released in the Fall season of this year. The pairing of the minimalist Japanese casualwear brand and the minimalist German fashion designer will definitely be of interest to many, hopefully the soon-to-be-open store in Singapore will carry the new line.

The first UNIQLO store in South East Asia is scheduled to open on April 9, 2009, at Tampines 1 mall, Singapore.

The result of the shortlisted top 5 finalists for Rimmel London’s Get Your London Look Campaign is out! Get ready to vote soon because the polling system will be up shortly.

In the mean time, you can slowly decide who got the London Look.

Brian Lichtenberg looks beyond his label’s trademark hologram leggings to dabble with darker designs. At the Los Angeles Fashion Week, the 29-year-old showcased a Spring 2009 collection inspired by bondage and Stanley Kubrick’s graphically violent film adaptation of “A Clockwork Orange”.

Lichtenberg channels a dangerously playful vibe with sheer lace panels juxtaposed against stark geometric lines and liberal amounts of shine. A smattering of technicolor details add a dash of vibrancy to this ultra-modern collection.

Fans will approve of this provocative offering, available in stores next year.

alldressedup is the apparent borne marriage (pun intended) of Lionel and Tina Tan-Leo. With over three decades of invaluable knowledge and business experience in lifestyle retail, brand franchise and luxury-fashion, apart from designing and producing seasons after seasons of clothes for the chicest of femmes, the modish label has also garnered considerable attention from rags like Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, In Style, Vogue and Newsweek.

Together with the duo’s impeccable taste and shrewd foresight, this season, alldressedup has again churned out a series of threads that will best define their core ideology of sophistication and uber-chic. And in celebration of the change of the seasons, their Fall/Winter ’08 collection is all about renewed exuberance and optimism. Culling immaculate and precise inspirations from the vastness of the deep blue sea, their latest collection is a strong play on nautical cords, iridescent colours, light fabrics and awkward silhouettes.

So whether you’re glamming it up for our favourite shindigs, or just gunning for that sartorial look, you know where drop your monies at.

To cop, alldressedup is located at Paragon, #02-37 and Level 2 Isetan Scotts.

Chanel’s mobile art pavilion has landed in Central Park. This is definitely an exhibition not to be missed if you happened to be in New York. Ochestrated by Karl Lagerfield, Zaha Hadid was handpicked to design the first ever traveling museum, a pavilion designed to house art exhibits designed for Chanel. 20 international contemparory artists will exhibit work inspired by the elements of Chanel’s legendary quilted bag.

Zaha Hadid’s pavilion is a piece of artwork by itself. A traveling project, with entry free to all, there is no reason not to check out the exhibition housed within an exhibition itself.  To quote Karl Lagerfield “….design and architecture are the real art of today“.

The art-architecture-fashion collaboration will travel the globe from 2009 until 2010. For more information, check out http://chanel-mobileart.com.

Fearless, authentic and endlessly inspiring. It might be an understatement to say that Janelle Monáe is quirky. She’s been known to rock her customary beret and Uggs in the middle of a summer blaze. Do yourself a big favor and have a look.

The Uncut version of the short film Directed by Alan Ferguson and The Wondaland Arts Society, “Many Moons.”
